David McDaniel, a Kennesaw native, joined Kennesaw State in October of 2023 as an Olympic Sports Equipment Manager. He brings over 16 years of collegiate athletics experience to Kennesaw State. An AEMA certified equipment manager, McDaniel is responsible for purchasing, inventory, issuing and maintaining all athletic apparel for Olympic sports at Kennesaw State.
Prior to joining the Kennesaw State staff, McDaniel spent eight years at the Georgia Tech Athletic Association as an Assistant Equipment Manager. McDaniel served primarily with the baseball, softball and tennis programs at GT.
Prior to his time at Tech, McDaniel served as the Head Football Equipment Manager and Video Coordinator at Mercer University in Macon, Ga. from 2012-2015. He handled the apparel and equipment needs for the football and lacrosse teams, while also coordinating all video services for Mercer’s football and lacrosse teams.
McDaniel was also a Graduate Assistant Equipment Manager at Georgia State from 2009-12. While at GSU, he assisted with the start of the Panthers’ football program. While at Georgia State, he also was a member of the video staff of the Arena Football League’s Georgia Force.
He graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2009 and he later earned his master’s degree in sport administration from Georgia State in 2012.
