2009-2010 Season
Competed in two meets during the indoor season... Finished in second place at the Gene Anderson UNC Invitational in high jump with a 1.68 meter leap... Earned All-Conference at the Atlantic Sun Indoor Championship with a 1.68 meter leap good enough for second... Never finished lower than seventh during the outdoor season, nabbing two first place finishes in the high jump... Best performance came at the JSU Gem of the Hills Invitational where she finished first with a 1.70 meter clearance.

2008-2009 Season
Set school records in both the indoor and outdoor High Jump, hitting a mark of 1.73 Meters at the A-Sun Indoor Championships and 1.70 Meters at the A-Sun Outdoor Championships, finishing first and third, respectively to take home All-Sun recognition...Posted five top-five performances during outdoor season, including a second place finish at the Georgia Relays (1.69 Meters), a tie for third at the UNF Invitational (1.65 Meters) and a runner-up in the Clemson Invitational (1.70 Meters)...Also competed in the Long Jump, with her best finish being eighth at the Clemson Invitational with a jump of 4.85 Meters.

2007-2008 Season
Set a new personal best in the high jump at the Clemson Purple and Orange Classic with a height of 5-05.0ft ... earned an All Conference selection at the Outdoor Conference Championships after posting a jump of 5.05.0ft in the high jump.

2006-2007 Season
Sidelined by injury in the 2007 season Jakia makes her return this year as she competes in the jumping events.

Prep Career
Placed second at regions in the high jump in her senior year...qualified for state in her junior season...her fastest time for the 100m dash is 11.8 seconds.

Was Born Jakia Ragland in Rochester, NY...her parents are Dawn Waters and Joseph Ragland...sister to Marcus, Jalesee, and Faniah...Is majoring in Accounting.
