Coach Wakeman-2010

Paul Wakeman

Paul Wakeman returns to the Owls’ staff for a second season in the fall of 2010 and brings with him extensive experience as a track and cross country coach on both the high school and collegiate levels.

He has previously worked as an assistant cross country coach at St. Bonaventure University and Alfred State College, both in New York State, and as an assistant track coach at Lansing Community College in his home state of Michigan. He also spent 15 years as a high school track and field and cross country coach in Michigan prior to moving up to the college ranks.

Wakeman is an accomplished runner in his own right. He ran cross country for two years at Lansing Community College, and has competed in ten marathons, including three Boston Marathons.

He is currently working on his doctorate in English and teaches composition classes at KSU. He lives in Decatur with his wife, Christina, who is a Ceramics professor at Georgia State University.
