Duane Morris enters his eighth season as the assistant track & field coach at Kennesaw State University, where he serves as the throwers coach and recruiting coordinator for the men’s and women’s team.

Morris was elevated to Associate Head Coach of the men's and women's teams in 2014. 
 
Morris has been a vital part in the vast improvement and success KSU has had recently in track & field. Morris has been a part of winning 14 ASUN Championships.
 
As a nationally recognized throws coach, holding a level-2 certification from USA Track & Field, Duane has helped re-write the entire record book in the Kennesaw State throws department. He also led KSU’s first NCAA Division I one throws qualifier when Josh McNair advanced to the 2011 NCAA National Championships earning All-American Honorable Mention in his 20th place finish in the shot put.

In 2017, Morris’s throwers continued to improve as the men won 16 of the 18 medals that were available at the ASUN Indoor and Outdoor Championships. In outdoor track, Fabeon Tucker set the school and ASUN Outdoor Conference Championship record in the discus throw and qualified for the NCAA Championships in the hammer throw.

In 2014, his throwers continued to raise the bar as they took the top three spots in the men's hammer throw with Martynas Sedys setting a new conference record. Sedys, the two-time Lithuanian national champion, qualified for the NCAA East Regional in his sophomore campaign. 
 
Since arriving at KSU, his throwers have amassed 85 ASUN All-Conference awards and 33 individual conference championships along with eight ASUN Championship records.  A few athletes like Suzee Mills, Robert Harvey, Shermaine Pinkard and Martynas Sedys, and Fabeon Tucker have thrived from working with Morris. Mills had two javelin titles, two weight throw titles and a hammer title, Harvey won two gold medals in the shot put and one gold medal in the discus, Pinkard received Indoor Freshman of the Year honors after her great first season and Sedys set the conference record in the hammer throw as a true freshman and then broke the record again his sophomore campaign, along with winning the Lithuanian National Championship twice. Tucker won six gold medals in just two years under Morris’s leadership. 

  
Prior to coaching at Kennesaw State, Morris worked as the Assistant Track & Field Coach (Throws) at Eastern Kentucky University for 2.5 years. While at EKU, Morris shadowed under legendary Rick Erdmann where he helped lead the EKU cross country teams to six OVC titles.

A native of Burlington Township, New Jersey, Morris attended Morehead State University, earning a degree in Social work, and competed in track and field for three years. Morris coached the throwers at Morehead State for four seasons. While coaching add Morehead State, his throwers won one OVC individual title, nine were All-OVC Athletes, one ESPN CoSIDA Academic All-American and three ESPN CoSIDA Academic All-District and an NCAA National first round qualifier.
 
He is a certified specialist in the throws, jumps and hurdles and sprints relays along with being a certified strength and conditioning coach by the USTFCCCA.
 
Morris currently resides in Kennesaw, Ga. with his wife, LaRaissa, and daughter, Madison. He is a USATF Certified Official.
