Frank Pitt

Frank Pitt is back for his 10th season with the Kennesaw State soccer program. Pitt was named Associate Head Coach in late June of 2008 after spending seven seasons as the top assistant coach on Rob King’s staff.

Pitt’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in on-the-field coaching, recruiting, monitoring student academic progress, and field maintenance.

A native of Birmingham, Ala., Pitt has a proven track record in the coaching ranks, and holds the prestigious, United States Soccer Federation "A" coaching license. As a head coach, he led both the Huffman High School and Hoover High School men’s and women’s teams to postseason appearances between 1994 and 1998.

Prior to coming to the Owls, Pitt spent four years teaching and coaching at Thompson High School in Alabaster, Ala. His coaching resume also includes being at the helm of various boys and girls club teams in the Birmingham area, perhaps most notably with the Alabama Angels girl’s club, with whom he won several State Cup titles. He also worked with the Alabama Olympic Development Program as a state team coach during his tenure as a prep coach.

The King-Pitt duo is not uncommon to the collegiate soccer ranks, as Pitt paired with Rob King from 1997-98 when he served as the assistant women’s soccer coach at the University of Montevallo and helped resurrect the Lady Falcon’s program.

As a player, Pitt was a midfielder and defender for the University of Alabama-Birmingham Blazers from 1989 to 1992. After his collegiate career, he played with the semi-pro Birmingham Grasshoppers.

Pitt received a Master’s degree in Education in from the University of Montevallo in 1998 and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

A resident of Kennesaw, Pitt has built a solid reputation in the community by training and working with local club teams and individuals. Along with Coach King, he is also committed to helping improve and promote soccer in Cobb County and has been instrumental in the success of Kennesaw State youth camps since he arrived on campus.
