2008 Season
Continued to be a top runner for the Owls, as she competed in all seven races during the fall…Joined Mackenzie Howe and Soibhan Wolcott on the Atlantic Sun All-Conference 1st team on the strength of a 7th place finish at the Conference Championship meet with a time of 18:25… Improved her times in the 3k races as the season wore on, culminating in a 12th place finish at the Front Runner Invitational in Chattanooga, posting a time of 11:52… …Ran well in the Owls first meet in Chattanooga, the Powerade Invitational, where she finished 20th overall in running a time of 12:32…Had a solid performance in the Owls’ first 5k meet of the season, the RunFit Invitational, where her time of 19:13 was good for 12th place. 
2007 Season
Gibson quickly became an important part of the cross country program during her rookie campaign, running in all seven meets and scoring in six of them... At the JSU Foothills Invite she won her first collegiate race with a season best time of 18:10 ... Was part of KSU's sweep of the top four places at the Mercer-Atlanta Invitational, as she finished the race in third place with a time of 21:21... Came in 13th place at the GSU Invitational, posting a time of 20:13... Completed the 5k at the A-Sun Conference Championship with a time of 20:03 to finish in the 28th position ... Turned in a time of 19:35 at the Disney World Cross Country Classic ... Posted a time of 19:21 at the Auburn Tiger Invitational. 

Prep Career
Kristen came to Kennesaw State after a successful cross country and track career at South Forsyth High School in Cumming ... She is the former Forsyth County Cross Country Champion ... Was also the 2003 Texas State Champion in the 1600 Meter event before moving to Georgia ... Her personal best for the mile is 5:08.

Was born Kristen Elizabeth Gibson in Jackson, Miss. ... Is the daughter of Jim and Dana Gibson ... Has two sisters; Katherine, 17; and Kimberly, 11 ... Is majoring in Health Education...Is involved with her church, and also enjoys soccer, water sports, and movies.
