Biography
2009 Season
Competed in five races during her senior year... Finished in 16th place at the JSU CC Opener in the 2k with a time of 12:39… Placed 19th in the 2k at the UTC Invitational with a time of 13:18… At the KSU Invitational she placed 18th… Competed at the ASUN Championships in the 5k where she finished 62nd with a time of 20:38.
2008 Season
Competed in six races for the Owls in her first season as a member of the cross country team… Completed both 3k races that she ran in this fall in 14:14, at the Powerade Invitational and the Front Runner Invitational, finishing 39th and 38th, respectively…Posted her best time in a 5k at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, where her time of 21:09 was good for 59th place.
2007 Season
A first year walk on, Charles competed in distance events for the Owls ...before competing as a track athlete she was on the Kennesaw State cheerleading squad during their inaugural season, when they placed third at nationals...in 2003 while still in high school she was an All-American.
Prep Career
Earned four varsity letters as a cheerleader at North Cobb High School… Was named a National Cheerleading Association All-American during her junior and senior years.
Personal
Was born Katrina Angelica Charles in Seoul, South Korea…The daughter of former CNN personality Nick Charles and Charlotte Wilson… Has two sisters; Meagan, 21; and Giovanna, 3…Is majoring in Health and Exercise Science.
