Emmett Van Der Snick

Emmett Van Der Snick begins his second year as the assistant director director of sports performance in 2022. Van Der Snick worked with men's and women's basketball during the 2021-22 season. He will work with women's soccer, lacrosse, men's tennis, women's tennis and softball during the 2022-23 seasons. 

He was hired in January of 2021 as an  assistant sports performance coach.

Van Der Snick comes from Brigham Young University where he served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. While at BYU, he programmed and trained the dive, women’s cross country, men’s and women’s tennis, and cheer teams.

From 2018-2020, Van Der Snick served as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at James Madison. He worked with the swim and dive, men’s and women’s golf, and football teams at JMU.
 
He was a strength and conditioning intern at the Louisiana State University during the spring of 2018. While at LSU, Van Der Snick assisted in the training of football, men’s and women’s track and field and soccer student-athletes.
 
Van Der Snick worked as a strength and conditioning intern at James Madison from 2016-18. He worked primarily with men’s and women’s golf and cheerleading while assisting with field hockey, softball, baseball, soccer, track and field and women’s lacrosse.  

Van Der Snick received his degree in kinesiology from James Madison in 2017 and his masters in exercise science from James Madison in 2020.
