Yolisha Jackson is back for her fifth year on the KSU staff and her third year as a full-time assistant coach. Jackson came to the Lady Owls after a successful career as a player at Jacksonville University.
Among her duties this season, Jackson, who is the Recruiting Coordinator, is also in charge of Post Player Development, will be assisting with on-the-floor coaching input and analysis. In addition, she will oversee academic progress and compliance issues.
As a four-year star for Jacksonville, Jackson ended her stellar playing career as the second player in JU history to score over 1,000 points in her career. She also left the Dolphins as the single-season record holder for points per game, points scored and career free-throws made.
She was also named an All-Atlantic Sun Academic All-Conference selection as well as being a former conference Player of the Week and two-time team Most Valuable Player. She had her career limited by a pair of knee injuries suffered in her junior year and the later half of her senior season.
Jackson, who is a member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and the Black coaches Association, works diligently with the Big Boys and Big Girls Club of Clarksville, Tennessee, where she serves on the Board of Directors. She also works with youth camps around the southeast and has spent time working at numerous collegiate and professional camps.
Jackson received her undergraduate degree from Jacksonville in Physical Education, and has completed course work towards her Masters Degree in Public Administration from Kennesaw State.
A native of Clarksville, Tennessee, Jackson is the daughter of Austin Peay State University Hall of Famer Howard Jackson and makes her home in Atlanta.
