    Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator
Kennesaw State women’s basketball has hired Reshad Baker as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, head coach Octavia Blue announced Friday, Sept. 6, 2024.
 
“Coach Reshad is a rising star in this profession,” Blue said. “He works hard, is extremely loyal and has a passion for the game that is unmatched. His recruiting ties, high energy and work ethic will make an immediate impact on this program. Our players are going to love being in the gym with him.”
 
He has coached four state championship squads, a United States Olympian gold medal winner, a WBNA draft pick, one McDonald All-American and helped over 65 players advance to the collegiate level. At the club level, he has helped produce three undefeated seasons as coach.
 
"I'm elated and very grateful to have this opportunity to work under Coach Octavia Blue,” Baker said.  "Coach Blue is a true professional and a highly respected veteran coach. I'm super excited to be able to soak in all the knowledge and experience she provides.”
 
Baker has spent the previous nine years as program director/head coach of Lady Flames Elite in New Orleans in addition to being the head women’s basketball coach at Northwest Kansas Technical College from Aug. 2023 to July 2024.
 
In his career, he had developed over 30 nationally-ranked prospects and helped over 20 student-athletes land at Power Five programs.
 
From Jan. 2022 to Jan. 2023, he served as the assistant coach/recruiting coordinator for East Mississippi Community College and helped the team to a 12-5 overall record, an appearance in the Region 23 tournament semis and aided in the development of First Team All-American Ja’Mia Hollings.
 
Prior to his stint in Scooba, Miss., Baker was the coordinator of recruiting operations for Morehead State and helped develop All-Ohio Valley Conference second teamer and All-Newcomer selection Jada Claude.
 
As program director of the Lady Pumas Elite squad in New Orleans, he recruited and developed future WNBA athlete Kalani Brown. He also spent time as the assistant women’s basketball coach and recruiting coordinator for Chipola College in Marianna, Fla.
 
He graduated from Southern University with a bachelor’s in business administration in 2017 and earned a master’s in computer information system in 2019 from Southern.
 
"I plan to bring high energy and do everything needed to make sure our players are successful on the court, within the community and in their lives,” Baker added.
