Justin Rufen-Blanchette begins his second season as the Kennesaw State women's basketball director of basketball operations, after being appointed to the position by head coach Nitra Perry in October of 2014.
“The addition of Justin has been very valuable,” said Perry. “His level of professionalism that he brings to my staff has really been good for the team. He has come in and seamlessly just fit in; it feels like he has been here forever and I really enjoy him being around. He is a get it done kind of guy, but also has a vast knowledge for the game.”
As director of basketball operations, Rufen-Blanchette’s duties include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the women’s basketball program and coordinating team travel, equipment and budgetary provisions. He also serves as the team’s video coordinator and director of youth summer camps.
Prior to joining the women’s basketball staff, Rufen-Blanchette served as the head student assistant for the KSU men’s basketball program for two years, assisting the director of basketball operations and video coordinator, as well as record and editing video of individual and team practices and game footage and overseeing the design and development of a 100-point club based on the Ken-Pom Statistical Analysis program to track player progress throughout the season.
Along with his work with men’s and women’s basketball programs at KSU, he has also gained experience as an intern for MCM-PR, a public relations firm in New York City, from 2008 to 2013, as well as serving as the NCAA Final Four intern in the spring of 2012 and completing his senior practicum with the KSU Athletics Communications office in the fall of 2013.
A native of New York, N.Y., Rufen-Blanchette earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management from Kennesaw State in July of 2014.
