Landers brings seven years of experience at the Division I level to the Owls, including the past two seasons as an assistant coach at USC Upstate, and helped the Spartans post a 14-game win improvement this past season (22-8) over the 2020-21 campaign. As assistant coach for Upstate, he handled recruiting on the national level as well as scouting, player development, and assisting with travel.

Previous to his time in Spartanburg, Landers spent two years as the director of player personnel at Mercer, one year at Ole Miss as the director of operations, and one season as the video coordinator for Virginia. He started his career in collegiate basketball by serving a one-year internship with the men's and women's basketball programs at Georgia. Landers attended Ole Miss, and received his bachelor's degree in business administration in December of 2013.
