Biography

2006 Season: Appeared in seven games and made one start...was used primarily out of the bullpen...made her only start of the year against Georgia State (2/19) where she lasted only one inning and allowed three earned runs in a 9-1 loss...did not allow an earned run in her next four outings where she allowed just four hits in 7.1 innings of work...had her most effective outing of the season against Oakland (3/5) when she pitched two hitless innings of relief and struck out a season high three batters in a 16-0 Kennesaw State win...against Alcorn State (3/10), she pitched two scoreless innings, striking out one batter while scattering three hits in an 8-3 KSU win. 2005 Season: Missy did not play in 2005 as she transferred to Kennesaw State from the University of West Georgia. 2004 Season: Was the number-one hurler for the Braves in 2004...finished the season with a team-high and school-record 13 wins as she posted a 13-18 record...ended the season with a 2.43 earned run average...her 222 strikeouts set a new club record, breaking the old record of 121 which she set in her freshman year...she also finished the year ranked in the top three in the Gulf South Conference standings in innings pitched, strikeouts and games started...threw a pair of ten inning shutouts against Albany State and North Alabama. Personal: Was born Melissa Frances Hobdy in Memphis, Tennessee...she is the daughter of Ransom and Judy Hobdy...she has an older sister Stephanie (28)...she has a dog named Bagel...is a Psychology major.
