Biography

2006 Season: Appeared in 23 games and made 19 starts mostly as designated hitter...battled through a leg injury during the middle of the season...hit .357 with 15 hits in 42 at-bats...all 15 of her hits were singles...finished the year with a .481 on-base percentage...had nine walks in 52 plate appearances...began the season with a two-game hitting streak, going 1-for-2 against Eastern Kentucky (2/18) and Georgia State (2/19)...had a season-high four-game hit streak (3/5-4/8), going 6-for-6 with four runs scored and a run batted in...was 4-for-4 in games against Oakland, Furman and Iowa State before an injury kept her out of action for a month...had three two-hit games...went 2-for-3 against Toledo (2/26)...was 2-for-2 against Oakland (3/5) and was also 2-for-2 versus Gardner-Webb (4/8)...ended the season by hitting safely in her final two games...went 1-for-3 with a run scored in the second game of a doubleheader against Belmont (4/22)...finished the year by going 1-for-2 in a win over North Florida (4/29). 2005 Season: Started in 55 of the 57 games she played in, mostly as designated hitter...also spotted Cambria McKay in 13 games behind the plate...in her 147 at bats, she had 36 hits including seven doubles and two homerun the plate...she was ninth on the team in batting average (.245)...she was sixth on the team with 26 runs batted in...she had a slugging percentage of .333 and an on base percentage of .343...in the field she had five assists and 66 putouts, with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage...Megan shined with the bases loaded, in her nine at bats with the sacs full she recorded three hits, driving in five runs...was once again one of the Owls clutch hitters, hitting .692 with runners on third with less than two outs...was fourth on the team with 23 walks...was tied for the team lead in sac flies with two... was perfect in her only stolen base attempt...began the season by hitting safely in her first eight starts...went 8-for-15 (.533) over that span with seven runs batted in...had two runs batted in and a run scored on her first home run of the season on April 2, 2005 in a 8-0 win over UNC Pembroke...had a season-high four RBI when she was 1-for-2 with her second homerun of the season in a 12-0 win over Coker on May 13, 2005 in the South Atlantic Regionals...was 1-for-2 with two RBI in an 11-0 win over Tusculum on February 11, ...was 1-for-2 with two RBI in a 9-1 win over West Georgia on February 16...was 3-for- with three RBI in a double header sweep over North Florida on February 19...was 2-for-4 with a run scored on March 1 in a victory over Anderson...scored a run and drove in a run on one hit in a 8-0 win over Chaminade while in Hawaii on March 5...was 2-for-3 in a 2-1 win against No.-7 Alabama-Huntsville on March 19...was 1-for-2 with a run scored and three RBI in a 10-0 romping of Augusta State on March 20...was a key part of a 9-1 beating of No.-10 Francis Marion on March 26...when she was 1-for-3 with a run scored and one RBI...was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI in a 7-3 win over Lander on April 9...went 1-for-3 with a run scored and one RBI in a 4-2 win over West Georgia on April 12. 2004 Season: Selected to the NCAA Division II All-South Atlantic Regional Tournament team after a 3-for-7 weekend with two doubles...got her first college hit when she broke into the starting lineup on February 29...after the first five games of her collegiate career she was hitting .500 (7for-14) and had knocked in 12 runs...had a team-high three runs batted in during the Owls 8-0 win...had a career-high three hits and scored two of her three runs on April 9 in a 17-0 win over North Greeneville...drove in four runs after going 2-for-3 with a single and a double in an 8-0 win over Belmont Abbey...put together back-to-back two-hit games on March 8 and March 10...went 4-for-6 with two doubles and five runs batted in...had a pair of three-game hitting streaks during the season...the first one coming February 29 to March 8 in which she went 5-for-9 (.556) with eight runs batted in...the second streak came March 17-21 where she went 3-for-10 (.300) with one run batted in and a run scored...went 2-for-3 with a double in the Owls[apos] South Atlantic Regional Tournament clinching game against Presbyterian...singled in the game-tying run that produced the game-winning run in the Owls 3-2 come-from-behind extra-inning win over Armstrong Atlantic in the clinching game of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament...hit .308 in conference games. Prep Career: Came to Kennesaw State after a four-year career at Morrow High School...was a two-time First Team All Region selection (2000-2001)...2001 All Area selection...Second Team All Area selection in 2000...was a three-year starting letter winner for the Mustangs (1999-2001)...set four Morrow High School single-season records, batting average (.535), on-base percentage (.623), slugging percentage (.605) and hits (23)...was a member of the Peachtree City Elite Travel Team (2000-2001)...was a member of the 2001 Camfast State Championship team...that team placed fourth at the Camfast World Series...set two single-season records with Peachtree City, batting average (.359) and on-base percentage (.508). Personal Was born Megan McConnico Gant in Atlanta, Georgia ...she is the daughter of Andy and Sue Gant...she has an older sister Lorien (27) and a younger sister Victoria (17)...she is a Psychology major.
