Biography

2006 Season: Appeared in and started all 55 games at first base...was a First Team All-Atlantic Sun Conference selection...was in the A-Sun top 10 in eight offensive categories including leading the league in batting (.410) and on-base percentage (.480)...was second in the conference in hits (73) and runs batted in (40)...was the only player in the Atlantic Sun Conference to hit over .400 for the season...had two double-digit hitting streaks during the year...began the season with a 2-for-4 day versus Georgia Southern (2/11) and had a 21-game hitting streak to begin the year...never saw her average drop beneath .410 all season...entered 24 games with her batting average at .500 or better...had a 10-game hit streak (3/24-4/10)...hit safely in 47 of 55 games and 17 of 20 conference games...had a season-high four-hit game against Furman (3/15) in a 16-5 KSU win...had four, three-hit games against Samford (2/15), Toledo (2/26), Eastern Michigan (2/28) and Oakland (3/4)...had a stretch of five games in which she produced multiple hits...went 2-for-3 against UNC Wilmington (3/3)...went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored versus UNC Greensboro (3/4)...went 2-for-3 and 3-for-4 in back-to-back games against Oakland (3/4 and 3/5)...finished the streak with a 2-for-2 game against Furman (3/5)...led the Owls with 20 multi-hit games...was tied for second with nine multi-RBI games...had a stretch of three games in which she drove in multiple runs...began the streak with a three RBI performance against Furman (3/9) and then had a two RBI game against Alcorn State (3/10) before driving home three runs against Centenary (3/10). 2005 Season: Enjoyed a tremendously successful sophomore campaign as she put together one of the finest seasons in Kennesaw State softball history...capped off the season by being named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association First Team All-American...was also a First Team All-South Atlantic Region selection and was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year as well as being an All-Conference selection...finished the season as the Owls Triple Crown winner as she led KSU in hitting (.415), home runs (14) and runs batted in with a school-record 81, breaking the old-record of 71 set by teammate Cambria McKay in 2004...also established the single-season record for hits in a season with 95, breaking the previous record of 94 set by All-American Krissy Bamford in 2001...also led the Owls in games played (70), at-bats (229), doubles (17), total bases (154), slugging percentage (.672) and on-base percentage (.469)...was ranked 38th in the nation in batting average and was 13th in runs batted in per game (1.16)...twice was the PBC Player of the Week, the first coming in the last week of February 2005 when she hit .467 (21-for-45) in 14 games with ten doubles and three home runs for an amazing 22 RBI...for that week she had an .889 slugging percentage and .547 on-base percentage...never went more than two games without getting at least one base hit...she had multiple-hits in 31 games, collecting three or more hits in a game on seven occasions...had streaks of three consecutive multi-hit games twice last year...in the South Atlantic Regionals she went for 7-for-12 with four runs batted in against Coker, Carson-Newman and Columbus State...went 7-for-10 with four runs batted in and four doubles in games against Anderson and Chaminade on March 1 and 5...began the season with a seven-game hitting streak in which she went 13-for-25 (.520) with ten runs batted in and six runs scored...ended the season with a 13-game hitting streak (the longest on the team in 2005)...during that streak she hit .41fter batting .450 (9-for-20) with two home rums and ten RBI in six games during the first week of April...posted a slugging percentage of .750 and had an on-base percentage of .500...went 3-for-4 with a homer, three RBI (19-for-46)...went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a homer and drove in six runs in an 8-0 win over Wayne State on February 25...went 2-for-3 with a home run, scoring one run and driving in two as the Owls beat Catawba College 8-0 on March 19...earned her second conference Player of the Week award after batting .450 (9-for-20) with two home rums and ten RBI in six games during the first week of April...posted a slugging percentage of .750 and had an on-base percentage of .500...went 3-for-4 with a homer, three runs batted in and two runs scored in an 8-0 shutout of UNC Pembroke on April 2...against Francis Marion on April 16, batted 1-for-3, scoring one run and driving in two en route to a 4-1 win...hit 2-for-4 with three RBI and notched her 16th double of the season during a 12-0 blanking of Coker College on May 13...went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs batted in and two runs scored as the Owls advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championships after downing USC Upstate 8-6 on May 15...hit in all six NCAA Division II National Tournament games, going 7-for-20 (.350) with two home runs and seven runs batted in...homered in the Owls win versus San Francisco State and in the national championship game against Lynn... In February, McKee was named recipient of the prestigious 2006 Georgia Commission on Women Collegiate Athlete of the Year Award for her stellar academic success, athletic accomplishments and civic commitments. She is the first-ever Kennesaw State player to be recognized with this award. 2004 Season: Had one of the best freshman season[apos]s in Kennesaw State history...in her first year with the Owls, she was an NFCA/Louisville Slugger First Team All-American...was also selected to the First Team All-South Atlantic Region squad...she was named the Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year as well as garnering an All-Conference selection...after a stellar performance during the South Atlantic Regional Championships, she was elected to the All-Tournament Team...also received selection to the Peach Belt Conference[apos]s All-Tournament Team...set the Owls single-season record with 221 at-bats...set the freshman record for home runs in a season with 11 and runs batted in with 59...in addition, her 90 hits was the second-highest single-season total in KSU history, four-shy of the all-time mark of 94 set by Bamford in 2001...her 18 doubles were the fourth best single-season mark in school history...57 runs scored is 3rd on the all-time single-season list...had a memorable collegiate debut going 2-for-3 with a walk-off home run in the Owls 3-2 win over Tusculum in the first-ever game at the Bobbie Bailey Athletic Complex...finished the opening-day doubleheader by batting 5-for-7 with a home run, a triple, two runs batted in and three runs scored...began her career with an eight-game hitting streak...had her longest hit streak of the season from March 25 to April 5 when she recorded a hit in 12 consecutive games...reached base in 63 of 68 games...led the Owls in multi-hit games (26) and multi-RBI games (18)...had nine three-hit games and ten back-to-back multi-hit games...hit the first home run of her collegiate career when she took a pitch deep off of Tusculum[apos]s Natasha Lindey in her second at-bat. Prep Career: Enjoyed a successful four-year career at North Gwinnett High School...played for the East Cobb Bullets...while in high school she was a three-time Second Team All State selection (2000-02)...was also a three-time First Team All County selection...was the 2000 Gwinnett County Player of the Year...team Most Valuable Player her sophomore, junior and senior seasons...set the Gwinnett County record for career singles, doubles, triples and runs batted in...finished her high school career with a .381 batting average...while playing for East Cobb she was a member of the back-to-back ASA State Championship teams (2002-2003)...was the league[apos]s Most Valuable Player in 2003 and won the Coaches Award in 2002.
