Brandy Kleeman

Brandy Kleeman begins her first season with the Owls as she joins the staff as an assistant coach. Kleeman will work exclusively with the pitchers and catchers this season and will also aid in game preparation. Kleeman comes to Kennesaw State after an impressive playing career in which she played three seasons at the Division I level and one year at the junior college level. She began her career at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga before transferring to Chattanooga State Community College. Kleeman completed her collegiate career at Tennessee Tech. During her two-year career at Tennessee Tech, she set school records in wins, innings pitched, strikeouts and ERA. Kleeman currently ranks in the top five in numerous pitching categories. She had career pitching record of 47- 25 with a combined ERA of 1.41, including three no-hitters. In addition, she was a five-time Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week selection and had a league-leading 0.69 earned run average. During her junior campaign she batted .350 with 31 RBI's and a .984 fielding percentage. While at Tennessee Tech, her accolades included being named an All-South Region selection, All-American nominee, two-time All-OVC selection and runner-up for the Tennessee Tech Female Athlete of the Year award. She was a two-time Academic All-American as well as a two-time President's Award Winner. At Chattanooga State, Kleeman earned NJCAA All-American honors after posting a nation's best ERA of 0.49 and a pitching record of 23-4. She also batted .320 for the Tigers, while also earning All-Conference and All-State honors. Prior to her collegiate career, Kleeman was named one of the Chattanooga-Area Top 25 Female Athletes of All-Time. In 2001, she was an assistant softball pitching coach for Harrison High School. Kleeman also conducts private pitching lessons for girls of all ages throughout the metro-Atlanta area. A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Kleeman received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Tennessee Tech. She then obtained her Masters degree in Education from Kennesaw State in 2005. She recently finished her Education Specialist degree in Administration and Leadership from Lincoln Memorial. Brandy is starting her sixth year of teaching and is currently employed by the Cherokee County School District. Kleeman and her husband Brad, a former infielder at Tennessee Tech, have been married three years and reside in Canton with their one and a half year-old pug/Chihuahua named Jake.
