Competed in four indoor meets and five outdoor meets during his one year of competition with the Tigers… Posted two 3rd place finishes in the Weight Throw during the indoor season, first at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., with a throw of 57’4.75” and at the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup in University Park, Pa. (57’4.25”)…Competed in the Weight Throw and Shot Put at the SEC Indoor Championships in Lexington, KY…Finished12th in the Hammer Throw in the SEC Outdoor Championships (181’2”) and 13th in Shot Put (51’6.5”)…Competed in the NCAA Mideast Regional, finishing 28th in the Hammer Throw (173’8”)…Named to the SEC All-Freshman team for in the Shot Put.

Prep Career
Earned four letters in Track and Field at Villa Rica High School in Villa Rica, Ga… Six-time indoor All-American and four-time outdoor All-American ... Two-time Georgia Class 3A state champion in the shot put in 2007 and 2008, and Class 4A state champion in Shot Put in 2006... Competed at the Nike Outdoor National Championships in 2007 and 2008… Also earned two varsity letters in football.

Was born Wesley Monroe Wright, Jr. to Wesley Wright, Sr. and Rebecca Wright in Lithia Springs, Ga…Father works in metal fabrication and mother is a teacher…Has two brothers; Gary (17) and Aaron (14)…Is majoring in Math Secondary Education…Plans to work in education and coach football after graduation…Enjoys hunting, fishing, and watching TV in his spare time.
