2009-2010 Season
Started the indoor season strong with a first place finish with his three teammates in the 4x4 relay at the Appalachian Indoor Invitational... Got another first place finish in the 4x4 and a fifth place finish in the 400 at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational... Named to All-Conference for a third place 400 finish at the Atlantic Sun Indoor Conference Championships... Continued 4x4 dominance in outdoor with a first place finish at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic in 3:17.60... Grabbed another All-Conference award for a first place finish in the 4x4 with a season best time of 3:13.53 at the A-Sun Outdoor Championships.

2008-2009 Season
Set a total of seven school records, including five during outdoor season and two during indoor...Indoor records include 200 Meters, 400 Meters, and 4x100 Meter records being set at the A-Sun Outdoor Championship, where he won the 400 Meters (47.29 seconds), the 4x100 Meters (41.36 seconds), and finished second in the 200 Meters (21.76 seconds), earning All-Atlantic Sun honors for each... Also was part of the winning 4x400 Meter Relay team at the A-Sun Outdoor Championships (3:14.67)...Also part of school record-setting performances in the 4x400 Meters and 4x800 Meters at the LSU Alumni Gold and Georgia Relays, respectively, with times of 3:13.39 and 7:39.87...Indoor records included the 400 Meter record on a 200 meter track at the Clemson Indoor Invitational and the Distance Medley Relay record on a track bigger than 200 meters at East Tennessee State, with respective times of 49.75 seconds and 10:07.91, finishing third and first in those events.

2007-2008 Season
Broke the school record at the Niswonger Invitational finishing the 400m dash with a time of 50.33... placed first in the 400m dash at the outdoor Conference Championships with a time of 48.71 seconds.

Prep Career
James joined Kennesaw State for his freshman season after running for Centennial High School where he was the regional champion for the 400m and 800m...came in second at State in the 800m....holds seven high school records including the 800m race (1:55.79) and the pole vault (13-0.0ft.)...in 2006 he received the Guts Award from his high school in recognition for his effort...his best time for the mile is 4:34.

Was born James Verdi in Alpharetta, Ga...is the son of Margery and James Verdi...has a twin Dominic and a younger brother Eric (13)...also wrestled during his high school athletic career.
