Andre Dorsey begins his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the track and field progams in 2016-17. Dorsey, recently completed one of the most stellar careers in KSU track history. Dorsey was a jumper who came to Kennesaw State in the fall of 2012. Since arriving on campus, he immediately became one of the most successful athletes in school history. As a freshman, he earned ASUN Most Outstanding Freshman Performer and Most Outstanding Performer of the A-Sun Indoor Championships. He has made the All-Conference team a combined 28 times in indoor and outdoor track including 17 conference individual championships. He earned seven ASUN Most Outstanding Performer Awards in outdoor and indoor track combined. In 2013-14, he was named USTFCCCA Indoor South Region Field Athlete of the Year and was the only athlete in the nation to compete at the NCAA Indoor Championship in three different events. In spring of 2016, Dorsey returned from an injury that sidelined him a season ago and set all three outdoor school records in the jumping events. He ranked in the top-20 in the long jump, high jump, and triple jump in the NCAA. He holds 16 school records and ASUN Conference Championship meet records. He was a five-time All-American, and led the Owls to eight straight conference championship titles in outdoor and indoor track. He reached the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships in both the high jump and long jump. He competed in the 2016 Olympic Trials in the triple jump. The Chalmette, Louisiana native graduated with a degree in exercise science in spring of 2016.
