Scoville Jenkins joined the tennis staff at Kennesaw State University in the Fall of 2010, after a successful playing career on the ATP Tour. He is now in his second season as assistant coach for the Black and Gold.
Jenkins' experience as a player is extensive, including US Open appearances where he faced off with the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Roddick. Jenkins is joining the coaching ranks while returning to school after retiring from the professional tour in August 2010.
In Jenkins' junior career, he set the landmark of being the first African-American to ever win the Boy's 18-under national championship, granting him his first trip to the US Open in 2004, where he drew Andy Roddick in the first round.
In the summer of 2010, Jenkins was a member of the New York Buzz in the World Team Tennis league, partnering with multiple grand slam winner Martina Hingis in mixed doubles.
