Former Kennesaw State men’s tennis player Michael Browder enters his first year on the Kennesaw State men’s tennis coaching staff while pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication.
 
Browder competed for the Owls during his senior season in 2011-12 and previously played for three seasons at Samford University prior to his time at Kennesaw State.  He was a member of the Southern Conference Championship team in 2011, which advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
 
While at Samford, Browder accumulated a 3-9 record in singles action and a 9-13 mark in doubles play. The Newnan, Ga., native posted a career high six doubles wins during his sophomore campaign, including a 4-5 mark at No. 1 doubles.
 
After transferring to Kennesaw State in the fall of 2011, Browder compiled a 5-13 record in doubles play, including a 2-7 mark in Atlantic Sun Conference action, while playing at all three doubles positions. He also tallied a 1-2 record in singles action, playing mainly at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
 
As a prep player Browder was consistently ranked in the Top 100 in the nation, reaching a high of 38th in the nation when he was a freshman in 2005.
