Kennesaw State head men's tennis coach #Eduardo Rincon# officially announced the hiring of #Hernan Hatem# as assistant coach starting in the 2014-15 season, it was made official on Friday, August 29.

Hatem, a former standout at Georgia Gwinnett College, spent two years as a student-athlete, leading GGC to a 2014 NAIA National Championship title with a 21-0 overall record as a team captain.

"Hernan brings a wealth of experience to this team and we're very excited to have him join our family," said Rincon of his new assistant. "This program is fortunate to have someone like Hernan around. Our team will benefit from his positive attitude both on and off the court and I'm certain he will make an immediate impact on our team".
Prior to his two seasons at GGC, Hatem spent two years at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Ga., where he was named the school's Rookie of the Year along with All-American honors and was ranked No. 4 among junior college players.

"Hatem is a wonderful addition to the KSU men's tennis coaching staff," said Chase Hodges, head coach at GGC. "Hernan has a great work ethic and will serve Coach Rincon and the Owl tennis program very well. I wish him the best of luck and certainly enjoyed having Hernan as a part of the Grizzly tennis program the past two years."

Hatem will begin working with the team immediately as the Owls gear up for the 2014-15 campaign.
