Eric Hodgson

Eric Hodgson, who has significant experience as a collegiate coach and club professional, is in his sixth season with the Kennesaw State men's golf program after being named an assistant coach on Jan. 13, 2016 .
 
Hodgson joined the KSU program after serving as an assistant pro at Indian Hills Country Club in Marietta, Ga. His most recent coaching experience came as an assistant coach for the men's and women's golf programs at South Dakota State from 2012-14 where his teams combined to win three Division I tournaments.
 
Since arriving in Kennesaw, Hodgson has helped the Owls:
  • Won back-to-back ASUN Conference championships
  • Made consecutive NCAA Regional appearances
  • Advanced to the 2017 NCAA Championships
  • Posted 41 Top 10 and 30 Top 5 finishes
  • Captured four tournament titles
  • Finished in Golfstat’s Top 50 in two of four seasons
  • Earned a Top 25 national ranking in the GCAA / Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll
  • Had 13 players earn ASUN All-Conference Honors
  • Had a player (Connor Coffee) garner ASUN Conference Freshman of the Year honors
  • Had eight players selected to the ASUN Conference All-Academic Team
  • Had five players selected to the ASUN Conference All-Freshman Team
  • Had eight players receive GCAA Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar honors
  • Earn the GCAA Academic Team Award three times, including President's Recognition Status for 2017-18

In addition to his time at South Dakota State, Hodgson assumed the title of assistant coach at The Webber School in Sandy Springs and served as a professional caddy on the Hopkins Golf Tour, E-Golf Tour and Open Golf Atlanta.

His experience as a collegiate player, coach and golf professional give him a well-rounded knowledge base. I believe Eric will make an immediate, positive impact on the program, and we are fortunate to have him wearing the black and gold."
 
As a collegiate player, Hodgson earned NAIA Academic All-America honors and was a Mid-South Conference all-academic selection while competing at the University of Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration while minoring in political science in 2012 and is currently working on a master's degree in adult development in the workplace.
 
Hodgson is a native and current resident of nearby Marietta.
