2012 Season
Competed in eight meets during his senior season… Finished in seventh place at the Auburn Invitational where he ran the 6k in a time of 19:32.4… Had a season best finish at the UWG Wolves Cross Country Invitational where he finished first in the 8k with a time of 24:01.06… Also finished sixth at the FSU Cross Country Invitational… Competed at the ASUN Championships where he finished second in the 8k with a time of 24:43.8… Placed seventh at the NCAA South Regional in the 10k event with a time of 30:43… Competed at the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year and finished 147
th in the 10k with a time of 31:05.
2011 Season
Hamid competed in eight events for the Owls in 2011, recording his best season in the Black and Gold… He advanced to the NCAA National Championship in Terre Haute, Ind., where he finished 87th with a time of 30:41.80… Named an All Atlantic Sun Conference First Team selection for his second place finish at the A-Sun Championship… Recognized by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as a NCAA South All Regional performer for his sixth place finish at the NCAA South Regional Championship with a 10K pace of 31:10.01… Won the 8K Georgia State Invitational at the Nash Farm Battlefield Track in a time of 25.39.02… Finished the season with five top-10 performances.
2010 Season
Had a stellar 2010 season which included a second place finish at the A-Sun Conference Championship and All-Region honors at the NCAA South Regional… Ran his fastest 8k time of the season at the Greater Louisville Classic in a time of 24:21… Was the first Owl to cross the line at the A-Sun Championship to help the Owls to their second straight conference title, finishing second in 24:41 and earning All-Conference honors… Finished 14th at the NCAA South Region Championship to earn All-Region with a 10k time of 30:40.
2009 Season
Hamid had a sparkling freshman campaign, finishing in the top-four in five out of eight races and leading the Owls in the last three of the season… Won spots on the All-Atlantic Sun Conference First Team and A-Sun All Freshman team by way of his third place finish at the A-Sun Championship in DeLand, Fla., finishing the 8k race in 25:45 to lead the Owls to the conference title…Was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Men’s Runner of the Week on October 28th for his performance at the KSU Owl Invitational, where he placed second with a time of 16:07 in the 5k…Also placed third at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic, finishing the race in 26:04 in the Owls’ winning effort…Finished 26th in the NCAA South Region Championship in Tuscaloosa, Ala., running the 10k 31:17 to lead the Owls.
Prep Career
Nabil came to the Owls as one of the premier cross country runners in Georgia, ending his career at Druid Hills High School in Northwest Atlanta as the reigning Class 3A state champion, winning the 5k race with a time of 15:49…Finished as the runner-up in the state championships as a junior as well…Also an accomplished distance runner in outdoor track, winning the 1600 and 3200 meter events at the DeKalb County Championships in 2009…placed 6th and 5th in the 2009 Georgia Olympics in the same events…Has been timed at 4:27 for one mile.

Originally from Ethiopia…Son of Ibrahim Hamid and Zahra Hussien…Has five brothers; Hamid, Arif, Sufiean, Mohamed and Sora, and two sisters; Elili, and Farida…Enjoys playing soccer in his spare time…Is currently undecided on a major.
