Competed in eight meets during his senior season… At the season opener, he finished the 5K at JSU Struts XC Classic in 15:33 for 16th place… Finished the 8K in 12th place at the Mercer Runfit Invitational with a time of 27:35… Ran a season best for the 8K with a time of 17:12.99 at the KSU Owl Invitational where he finished in 16th place… Posted a time of 27:10.0 in the 5K at the ASUN Championship to finish in 23rd place… Ran the 10K with a time of 33:07.04 at the NCAA Regional to finish in 83rd place.

2007 Season
Had a solid junior season, including a seventh place finish at the Mercer-Atlanta Invitational, running a time of 21:31...Finished the 5k at the JSU Opener in 15:47 for 16th place...Completed the 8k at the GSU Invitational in 27:53 for 19th place...Ran a season best for the 8k at the Tiger Invitational, completing the course in 26:03...Posted a time of 26:20 at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic for 22nd place...Ran a time of 27:31 at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship to finish in 31st place.
2006 Season
Competed in six meets during his sophomore season...Had his top finish of the season at the Mercer Invitational with a time of 21:03 for a fourth place showing...Posted a time of 27:22 at the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala. to finish in 43rd place in the 8k...Completed the 8k run at the Auburn Tiger Invitational with a time of 26:14...Posted a season-best time of 20:35 for 16th place at the Gardner-Webb XC Duals...Placed 24th in the 8k at the 2006 A-Sun Championships with a time of 27:47.
2005 Season
Ran in all six of the Owls' meets during his freshman year...Posted a season-best finish of 23rd with a time of 27:45 at the Georgia State Invitational on October 15th...Finished 39th at the A-Sun Championships, crossing the line in 27:32.
Prep Career
Michael came to Kennesaw State after a successful prep career at Sequoyah High School...Qualified for the Georgia State Championships with a time of 16:24...Was a top 20 finisher at the Berry Championships after receiving the elite Clara Bowl green shirt...Was a four-year letter winner in track & field...Received the SHS Scholar Athlete Award...Was nominated for the National Youth Leadership Conference Forum of Law in 2004...Vice-President of National Honor Society at SHS, where he graduated in the top five percent of his class.

Johnson and Carolyn Hughes...Michael is majoring in Business Management… Is currently the Vice President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council, an organization comprised student athletes whose purpose is to serve as a line of communication between the student-athletes and athletics administration.
