2009 Season
Competed in six meets during his senior season… Finished the season opener at the JSU Struts XC Classic in 17th place in the 5k with a time of 15:36… Completed the 5k at the UTC Powerade Invitational in 16:45 finishing in 17th place… Posted a time of 17:28.07 in the 5k at the KSU Owl Invitational and finished in 15th place… Finished the 8k at the ASUN Championship in 50th place with a time of 28:47. 

2008 Season
Redshirted during the 2008 season.

2007 Season
Had a successful third season with the Owls, competing in all seven races...had his best finish of the season at the JSU Opener as he took 11th place in the 5k with a time of 15:31...Posted his season best time in a 5k at the Mercer Atlanta Invitational, registering a time of 22:03 to finish in 13th place... Finished in 25th place at the GSU Invitational with a time of 28:08...Completed the 8k at the Auburn Tiger Invitational in 26:1l...Posted a time of 27:38 at the Disney World Cross Country Classic...Completed the JSU Foothills race in 28:17...Finished the 8k at the Atlantic Sun Conference Men’s Cross Country Championship in 48th place with a time of 28:14.

2006 Season
Finished 7th at the Mercer Invitational with a time of 22:01...Posted a time of 29:27 on the 8k course at the Crimson Classic...Finished 18th at the Gardner-Webb XC Duels with a time of 20:46 for the 6k run...Posted a time of 29:31 for the 8k at the Furman Invitational.

2005 Season
Competed in five meets during his freshman season with the Owls...Posted his best time of the season with a mark of 27:59 to finish 45th at the Atlantic Sun Championships...Secured a time of 28:22 at the Georgia State Invitational.

Prep Career
Matthew came to KSU after running at Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, Ga. ...Was Sandy Creek’s top cross country runner during his final three seasons.

Was born Matthew David Auers in Fayetteville...Is the son of Loren and Elizabeth Auers...Has two brothers; Tom (24), John (22) and Marie (17)...Auers is majoring in Exercise and Health Science.
