Jonathan Gambrell will begin his first season with the Owls as a track and field volunteer coach. Gambrell is a senior Chemistry Education major at Kennesaw State and a former prep cross country and track and field athlete.
Gambrell spent three seasons as an assistant track and field and cross country coach at Allatoona high school where under the guidance of head coach Dave Ravenscraft and himself, both the men’s and women’s programs have found much success. Each squad has claimed two Regional Championships with the men producing an individual championship each of the past two seasons. In 2012 the women finished third in the state, while the men placed fifth.
The Allatoona track and field program has produced five individual state champions under the tutelage of Gambrell with two coming in the distance and mid-distance events.
Gambrell is a Level 1 certified USTAF coach as well as being a USATF Certified Official.
