Kennesaw State University Athletics

Darius Drakes is a freelancer for the KSU Owl Network where he works as a camera operator for the ESPN+ broadcasts.

Drakes began his journey with the KSU Owl Network in 2019 as a camera operator, working with any sport KSU had to offer. Throughout his time with the KSU Owl Network, Drakes has contributed to many broadcasts, mostly on camera, but also as a Bug Operator and mentor to the up-and-coming camera operators. 

In addition to KSU sporting events, Drakes has also assisted the KSU Owl Network with other projects, including the Cheez It Celebrity Crunch Classic, which was hosted at KSU in 2021, as well as award ceremonies for student athletes. Drakes has also worked as a Camera Operator with Georgia State University, Hi Five Digital Productions, and Tormenta FC. 

Drakes graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Communications with a minor in Sports Marketing. He hopes to continue his work as a Camera Operator with KSU for the foreseeable future, while also aspiring to work with professional teams in the area, such as the Hawks, Braves, Falcons, and Atlanta United.
