Sarah Erney

Sarah Erney begins her first year as assistant cheerleading coach after joining the Kennesaw State Department of Athletics in the summer of 2013.
 
Along with her role with the Owls, Erney also acts as the head cheerleading coach at Cherokee Charter Academy in Canton, Ga., where she works with children from kindergarten through eighth grade on cheerleading materials, including cheers, chants and jumps. She has served in that role since joining the school as a second-grade teacher in 2011.
 
Erney previously gained coaching experience as a cheerleading and gymnastics instructor at World of Cheer and Gymnastics in Woodstock, Ga., in 2008, as well as serving as a summer camp counselor at the KSU Owls Nest in 2010.
 
A December 2010 graduate of Kennesaw State where she earned her bachelor’s of science degree in early childhood education, Erney was a four-year member of the Kennesaw State competitive cheer team and served as the vice president of the club during the 2009-10 season.
 
During her time on the team, Erney was recognized by the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) as a four-time All-American Cheerleader and led the squad to a Division I NCA All-Girl National Championship title.
 
Erney currently resides in Acworth, Ga.
