2013
Had a year for the record books during his junior campaign, compiling one of the lowest ERAs in the nation of 1.14, keeping his ERA below one until the final game of the season... Held a 9-1 record and was 9-0 until the championship game of the A-Sun Tournament... Set a new A-Sun single-season ERA record of 1.14, breaking a mark that was set nearly 20 years ago... In 13 starts, picked up two complete games and gave up just 10 earned runs in 78.2 innings pitched... Struck out a team-high 55 batters and allowed just eight hits for extra bases... Made it back-to-back complete game wins at North Florida (4/19) and East Tennessee State (4/26), allowing just five htis to the Ospreys during a shutout win... Made it 14 consecutive innings without giving up a run... Earned All-Atlantic Sun Conference First Team honors, a unanimous decision, and one A-Sun Pitcher of the Week Award...

2012 
Started seven games for the Black and Gold before an injury ended his season prematurely…Recorded 3.31 ERA and a 2-1 record, while striking out 37 batters in 37.1 innings pitched and only allowed nine base on balls…Mar 7 vs Mercer, pitched 7.0 innings, allowed one hit and struck out nine Bear batters on the way to a KSU shutout, 8-0…Mar 25 vs Jacksonville,  pitched 7.0 innings allowed three runs, striking out six with the Owls winning 10-3…Mar 31 vs North Florida, started the game and pitch 3.0 innings with five strikeouts before leaving the game with an injury that sidelined him the remainder of the season.

2011 Summer League
NECBL New England Baysocks was the home for Janas in the summer of 2011…pitched 33 innings and had 32 strikeouts…finished the season with a 3-1 with a 1.63 ERA…started five games…Jul 15 vs Vermont, pitched 8.0 innings allowing four hits and one run in a 1-0 loss.

2011
Appeared in 10 games for the Owls with two coming as the squads starting pitcher... Steven’s first ever-collegiate start came at Western Carolina where he was the winning pitcher with five innings pitched allowing zero runs and only two hits… Janas pitched 26 innings throwing 22 strikeouts for the season… His last appearance of the season came in a win against Jacksonville where he started and struck out six in the six innings he pitched.

Played his prep ball at Lassiter High School where he was a three-year letterwinner ... Was a Region 6A Second Team All-Region selection in 2010 ... Was the Trojan's Cy Young Award recipient his freshman and sophomore seasons ... Named team captain his senior season.
