Matt Gonzalez begins his second year as an assistant sports performance coach in 2022-23 working with the KSU volleyball, baseball and track and field programs.
Gonzalez came to KSU from Miami University where he was an assistant strength and conditioning coach from November 2020 to June of 2021. While at Miami University, he worked with the track and field, softball, field hockey and tennis programs. The Redhawks men’s track, softball and field hockey teams won MAC Conference Championship titles during his tenure. He also assisted with Miami football’s winter and spring strength and conditioning program.
Gonzalez was a human performance intern at Miami University from August 2019 until November 2020 where he worked with the track and field program.
Prior to Miami, Gonzalez was a strength and conditioning intern for the University of Michigan football program from May 2018 to May 2019 and was a graduate intern at Texas Tech from January 2017 to May 2018.
Gonzalez graduated with a degree in exercise science in 2013 and a master’s of science in kinesiology in 2018.
