John Patrick begins his first year as head strength and conditioning coach at Kennesaw State following his appointment in June, 2012.
Patrick joins the KSU Department of Athletics after serving as assistant director of strength and conditioning at Central Connecticut University for the past year. He also served as director of strength and conditioning at Youngstown State (2008-11) and Jacksonville University (2004-08).
A graduate of Mount Union College in 1999, Patrick earned a master’s degree in kinesiology from Georgia Southern in 2004 before spending time as a strength coach at the University of Texas-El Paso and New Mexico State University, and a volunteer strength and conditioning assistant with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Patrick began his professional career in baseball, serving as a minor league strength and conditioning coach in the Cleveland Indians organization, and Spring Training strength and conditiong coach for the Detroit Tigers in 2001.
Patrick is a member and certified by several professional organizations, including the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), International Sports Science Association (ISSA), United States Weightlifting Association (USWA) and United States Track and Field Association (USAT&F).
