D.J. King is back for his third season with the Kennesaw State staff as a volunteer assistant coach. King works with outfielders, assists with offensive strategies, baserunning and hitting while also serving as video coordinator.
King comes to the Owls from Andrew College where he served on their coaching staff over three seasons. In his final season at Andrew, King served as assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator. During his time, King worked with pitchers and catchers while also assisting 25 players to four-year schools, including eight players to Division I and two draft picks.
Prior to his coaching career, King won back-to-back state championships at Parkview High School where he played for legendary coach Hugh Buchanan. He played his collegiate ball at Chattahoochee Valley where he was an all-conference pitcher. He concluded his playing career at Shorter College.
King holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Shorter College and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree. He is single and makes his home in Monroe, Ga.
