Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
The Kennesaw State University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a student-athlete organization comprised of individuals selected by their coaches and teammates for their leadership potential. SAAC is comprised of representatives from each intercollegiate team, as well as the Spirit Squad and led by an executive committee. They serve as the main line of communication between the student-athletes and the athletic administration to provide insight on the student-athlete experience and provide input on the KSU Athletics, Atlantic Sun Conference and NCAA rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes.
SAAC helps to promote programs that encourage academic achievement, social responsibility, health promotion and general awareness. They spearhead the community service and charitable fundraising efforts of the student-athlete body and encourage the cohesion between and the support of all teams.
SAAC also has the opportunity to participate in leadership training, as part of the KSU Student-Athlete Leadership Academy. KSU Athletics has partnered with the KSU academic community to develop a formal leadership academy for student-athletes.
NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
"The mission of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image."
Presently, there are separate national SAACs for NCAA Divisions I, II and III. NCAA legislation mandates that all member institutions have SAACs on their respective campuses. Further, NCAA legislation requires that all member conferences have SAACs.
