Department of Athletics Internship Opportunities
The Kennesaw State Department of Athletics sponsors 18 intercollegiate athletics teams and competes at the NCAA Division I level. Within the Department of Athletics, there are a wide range of opportunities for individuals interested in a career in athletics to gain valuable experience.

Each year the Department of Athletics seeks enthusiastic, hard-working and dedicated individuals to offer support in a variety of areas. Opportunities exist in athletics communciations, creative services, corporate sales, development, facilities, ESPN3 at Kennesaw State, game management, marketing and promotions, ticket sales and operations, video operations and production.

Below are job descriptions for positions within each unit. Interested candidates should follow the appropriate application guidelines within the specified deadline period.

Athletics Communications
The Athletics Communications Office is responsible for the public relations for the Department of Athletics. Members of the unit work closely with assigned athletics teams and the media in an effort to publicize their accomplishments. The unit is also responsible for teams' social media accounts and areas of game management.

The department is seeking individuals interested in sports, public relations and social media and looking to receive class and/or internship credit . This is a 10-month, non-paid appointment, with the anticipated start date as August 2018.

Athletic Training
Football Student Athletic Trainers

The Kennesaw State Sports medicine program is seeking student athletic trainers. We are looking for hardworking, motivated individuals to come help with day to day sports medicine operations for the football team. As a student athletic trainer you are an integral part of the team. Your role will cover a variety of jobs including but not limited to the following: Organization and setup for practices, scrimmages, and games; assisting Sports Medicine staff in the treatment of student athletes; providing hydration and basic first aid to student-athletes. Some of the benefits of the job: working the sideline for assigned home games, possible travel to away games, opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the field of sports medicine.

You must be a full time enrolled student at Kennesaw State University. There will be a trial period for you to get a feel for what the job entails and the time dedication this opportunity will take up. This is a great chance to get experience for your future whether you end up in athletics or not. Marketing and Promotions
MARKETING AND FAN EXPERIENCE  INTERNSHIP POSITIONS 
The Kennesaw State Department of Athletics is currently seeking responsible, organized, and dedicated students to be a part of the team that promotes, plans, coordinates and executes sporting events and outreach programs this upcoming 2018-19 and 2019-2020 school years.  This program was responsible for executing over 100 home sporting events and outreach on campus and in the community.
 

Basic Qualifications for all positions:
This internship program will last one semester, based on performance, you may extend for additional semesters. Orientation will be held prior to the beginning of the season (Fall - August or Spring - January). Interns are expected to commit to the full term of the internship. Must be able to work at least 10 hours a week and be flexible with hours (including nights, weekends & holidays as assigned).

  • Desire to learn about sports marketing 
  • Knowledge of multiple sports
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to effectively execute tasks given
  • Remain calm under pressure in a variety of production situations
  • Must have reliable transportation

SPORT PERFORMANCE

SPORT PERFORMANCE VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT OPENING (2)

The Kennesaw State University Sport Performance is looking for a highly motivated individual to fill one (1) of two (2) VOLUNTEER Assistant positions for the FALL 2016 semester to begin on August 15, 2016. Kennesaw State University Olympic Sports compete at the Division I level in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Qualifications: Individuals applying must be willing to work 20 hours per week, possess or working towards one of the major certifications (USAW, CSCS, SCCC), graduated with or in their last semester of undergraduate studies in exercise physiology or related field, willing to complete the full internship experience with adherence to standards of the Kennesaw State University Sport Performance Department, Kennesaw State University Athletics Association, and Kennesaw State University.

This internship experience has a thorough educational experience that individuals will complete and present to staff members at biweekly roundtable discussions. Compensation: although no monetary compensation is offered, individuals will receive Division I Olympic Sports experience, further knowledge of the field, educational advancement, course credit if needed, and the possibility for future references.
