2011 Season
Griffith pitched in 14 games during the 2011 season, 12 of which he started… After a loss to Memphis, Zack won five consecutive starts for the Owls... Griffith’s best game came against Lipscomb when he went eight innings, giving up two runs, with five strikeouts and just one walk on just 91 pitches, with 67 coming as strikes... Pitched six innings against Savannah State where he struck out six batters in six innings to collect the win... Zak bolstered a better than 2-1 strikeout to walk ratio as he racked up 51 strikeouts and only 22 base-on-balls… Season average era was 5.67 and finished the season with a 7-3 record.

2010 Season
Griffith started in six games for the Black and Gold and appeared in 17 to amount 55.2 innings pitched... Threw five innings, allowing only one run on four hits along with four strikeouts in an 11-1 win against UGA... Zak followed his UGA outing with 6.2 innings against No.2 ranked Ga. Tech at home with a 7-4 win giving up two earned runs on three hits and four strikeouts... Totaled 38 strikeouts on the season as he finished up with a 2-3 record throwing 5.2 innings in a win against ETSU allowing only two hits and one run.

2009 Season
Made eight appearances and started one game for the Owls…his start against Troy on May 12 resulted in this longest outing of the season going 3.0 innings and giving up only one earned run…had a two game streak in which he gave up no runs…pitched two games in which he gave up no hits in 1.2 innings of work.

Prep Career
A three-year varsity letterman at North Cobb Christian...Helped his team win a state championship as a sophomore by making the game-winning, diving catch in the outfield to save two runs and end game 2 and then went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the third and final game as well as recording three scoreless innings as a relief pitcher...Named All-Region as a sophomore and a junior...Named All-State as a junior and senior...Was given the Coach's Award as a junior and was named MVP his senior season.

Was born David Zachariah Griffith in Kennesaw, Georgia...Is the son of David And Debbie Griffith...Has two siblings Hannah and Abbey... Zak is communications major with an emphasis on public relations.
