Biography
2009 Season
Had a strong year his senior season... Placed third at the Mercer Runfit Invitational where he ran the 8k course in a time of 27:35… Best finish of the season came during the Walt Disney Cross Country World Classic where he completed the 8k at a time of 27:51 and finished in second place… Completed the 8k in 17:12.99 at the KSU Owl Invitational and came in seventh place… Finished 11th at the ASUN Championships where he ran the 5k in a time of 27:10… Competed at the NCAA Regional and completed the 10k with a time of 33:07.04 and finished in 91st place.
2008 Season
Came back strong after redshirting during the 2007 season, recording four top ten finishes during the fall to earn a spot on the All Atlantic Sun Conference second team, the second time he earned the distinction of being an all-conference selection… Placed 8th in the Atlantic Sun Championship with a time of 25:12 in a field of 83 participants… Participated in all seven meets the team competed in during the fall, and was the leading KSU runner in six of them… Best finish of the season came during the Owl’s opening meet at the Jacksonville Invitational, in which his time of 15:46 in the 5k was good for a 2nd place finish and propelled the Owls to a 1st place finish in the meet overall…Finished 5th at the Front Runner Invitational 5k in Chattanooga…Other top ten performance came in the way of a 7th place finish at the Walt Disney World Championships, where he ran the 8k course in a time of 25:44… Garnered Atlantic Sun Conference Runner of the Week Honors twice, for his performances in Jacksonville and Disney.
2007 Season
Redshirted during the 2007 season.
2006 Season
Was the top finisher for the Owls in five separate meets during the 2006 season...Earned All-Conference honors on the strength of a third place finish at the 2006 Atlantic Sun Conference Championships with a time of 25:52...Placed 11th at the 2006 Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala. with a time of 25:47 in the 8k race...Broke the KSU 8k record with a time of 24:16 at the Auburn Tiger Invitational to finish in ninth place...Finished second at the 2006 Gardner-Webb XC Duels with a time of 19:10 for the 6k race...Finished third at the Furman Invitational with a time of 25:41 for the 8k.
Prep Career
Scott came to KSU after transferring from the University of New Orleans...Finished fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships..Set a personal record of 8:38 to finish fourth in the 3k run at the Sun Belt Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Had a very successful career at Thousand Islands Secondary School...Was the MVP of both his cross country and track team...Gold medalist at the 2004 OFSAA Cross Country Championships...Was the Valedictorian of his high school class.

Born Scott David John Burley in Brockville, Ontario, Canada...Is the son of Allan and Donna Burley...Has an older brother Tyler, 25...Is majoring in Chemistry…Is an accomplished photographer on top of being a runner.
