2011-2012
Selected as an all Atlantic Sun Conference first team member for the 3000M during the outdoor season... He had 8 total top-5 finishes in the 2012 season... He set his college best times of 4:06.04 for the 1500M in the outdoor season along with 8:41.85 for the 3000M and 4:35.97 for the Mile during the indoor season. Burruss competed seven times for the Black and Gold in 2011 with his best finish of third place coming at the Auburn Invitation 5K race where he finished third with a time of 19:12.70… He was named an All Atlantic Sun Conference Second Team member for his eighth place finish at the A-Sun Championship… Recognized by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as a NCAA South All Regional performer for his 20th place finish (31:47.60) at the NCAA South Regional Championship… Finished the season with three, top-10 finishes.

2010-2011
Burruss claimed a first place finish at the JSU Gem of the Hills Track & Field Invitational in the 3000-meter race with a time of 9:44.84… His personal best in the event came at the Auburn Tiger Classic as he posted a time of 8:44.41… Burruss finished second in the event at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship to earn second team All Conference Honors.

2009-2010
Finished first in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic on March 27 in a time of 10:00.4… Competed in two events at the JSU Gem of the Hills Track and Field Invitational, 4x400 and 3000m steeple. Along with fellow Owls Nabil Hamid, Steven Murray and Andrew Greeson placed seventh in a time of 3:43.57 in the 4 x 400. Achieved a season’s best time in 3000m steeple at the Atlantic Sun Championships with 9:39.4 putting him in second place in the conference.

Prep
Finished fifth at the Region 5-AAAAA Boys track championship in 2009 with a time of 4:38.82 in the 1600m… Ran a PR of 9:53.20 in the 3200m at Coaches Association Invitational, placing 11th.
