2011 Season
Once again proved to be one of the top all-around players in the Atlantic Sun Conference, excelling as both a pitcher and offensive player…Finished in the top-10 in the conference in home runs (13), slugging pct. (.613), on-base pct. (.426) RBI (37) and total bases (95) as a batter, while in the pitcher’s circle she posted a 13-9 record and 2.31 earned run average. Her versatility was good enough to earn her All A-Sun Second Team honors, the third all-conference honor of her career…Tossed the first Owls no-hitter since 2008 when she shut down East Tennessee State on Apr. 16 in an 8-0 Owls win at Bailey Park, en-route to winning A-Sun Pitcher of the Week honors…Almost duplicated the feat a week later, when she had a perfect game going at Belmont on Apr. 22 before allowing her only hit in the sixth inning of a 9-0 Owls victory. She was the main contributor in that game offensively, as well, going 3-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI…Threw a complete game, one-hit shutout against Austin Peay on Mar. 6 in the Buzz Classic (Mar. 4-6). The performance helped her earn a spot on the all-tournament team…Had three multi-home run games during the season, also hitting two apiece at Samford on Mar. 29 and at Campbell on Apr. 9, both five RBI performances. She added another home run in the second game of the doubleheader at Campbell, making her the only Owl to have a three-home run day in 2011…Fanned a season-high 11 batters in the Owls season-opener against Central Arkansas on Feb. 12, a complete game performance leading to a 4-2 Owls victory…Had a pair of game-winning, walk-off singles in 2011, first against Stetson on Apr. 2 and then against USC Upstate on Apr. 15, both the first games of home doubleheaders.
2010 Season
Had a remarkable season upon returning from injury, being named to the All-Atlantic Sun Conference First Team for the second time in her career… Named to the A-Sun All-Tourney team after pitching 11 and two thirds innings over two games without giving up an earned run and also hitting a home run at the plate… Had a 15-11 record in 34 appearances, led the team in ERA with 1.76… Ended the season third in the A-Sun in home runs (12), tied for fourth in RBIs (36), and seventh in ERA (1.76)… Appeared in the starting lineup in all 53 games for Owls, one of only two member of the Black and Gold to accomplish that feat in 2010 (Klair Wells), 24 as a pitcher and 29 as a shortstop or designated player…Finished first on the team in innings pitched (171.0) and strikeouts (124)… Was in the pitcher’s circle for the Owls’ first-ever A-Sun Tournament win, tossing a complete game, two-hit shutout against USC Upstate in the first game…Named to the All-Tournament Team at the Phyllis Rafter Memorial … Pitched a shut-out against Georgia State February 27 with four hits and nine strikeouts… Had two four- game hitting streaks between 2/26 and March 3/6, hitting .519 during that span (14-for-27).
2009 Season
Started in 12 games before her season came to an end with an injury... was named to the A-Sun Preseason All Conference Team... in 12 games hit .441 with 15 hits, eight runs, three doubles and four homeruns... had an .882 slugging percentage... was 2-3 on the mound with a 2.28 ERA... had one save in 30.2 innings... held opponents to a .235 batting average with 21 strikeouts
2008 Season
Played and started in all 53 contests as a freshman... in 157 at-bats led the team with 53 hits, nine doubles, 15 homeruns and 41 RBI... scored 27 runs and had one triple... ended the year with a .691 slugging percentage and led the Owls with a .338 batting average... on the mound she had a 1.57 ERA and had an 8-4 record in 13 starts... made 19 appearances... had two shutouts... had her first collegiate hit in a 2-1 win over Tennessee Tech (2/8)... had her first homerun against Middle Tennessee that saw the Owls win 7-1 (2/9)... was named to the Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team... one of two A-Sun First Team All-Conference selections... a Second Team NFCA Southeast All-Region Member
Prep Career
Enjoyed an excellent high school career at Ringgold HS where she was a First Team All-Georgia AAAA selection in 2006... selected to represent the North squad in the 2007 GACA All-Star game... batted .324 in her senior season, helping propel Ringgold to a 31-8 record... was tied for second in the state in doubles... hit seven homeruns and 11 doubles with 20 of her 36 hits going for extra bases... had 24 RBI... was also a tremendous pitcher, going 17-6 with a miniscule 0.30 ERA...In her last season she struck out 191 batters in 160 innings pitched.

Born Jessica Lea Cross in Tunnel Hill, Ga. ... Is the daughter of Jesse and Luann Cross, Luann having played Owls slow pitch softball for Coach Whitlock...Brother, Colton is a freshman on the Owls baseball team... Has a dog named Jack ... Prefers Facebook to Twitter...Is a big fan of the Braves... Enjoys eating sushi... Majoring in English education, and is currently student teaching… when not playing softball enjoys reading, working out, and spending time with family and friends.
