Named a co-captain for the 2011 season, and was a member of the 2008 A-Sun All Freshman Team.

As a Junior (2010)
Tied a career-high playing in a total of 18 singles matches in her junior season as she saw time all over the lineup ranging from the No. 2 to the No. 5 spots ... finished the year with a singles record of 5-13 ... one of her best wins of the season came on Feb. 26 as she picked up a conference win with a three-set, come from behind victory over Campbell’s Ana Surviladze at the No. 5 spot 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 ... recorded a doubles record of 6-12 on the season.

As a Sophomore (2009)
In her second season with the Owls, Tanaka played in a total of 15 singles matches at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots finishing the year with a 6-9 singles record ... she got her season off to a strong start winning her first three singles matches, and six of eight overall, including a win at the No. 2 singles spot over Savannah State’s Shawannda McClain on Jan. 25, 6-0, 6-0 ... appeared in 15 doubles matches on the season going 7-8.

As a Freshman (2008)
After walking onto the team as a freshman, Tanaka turned in a stellar season for the Owls, taking over the No. 1 spot when injuries sidelined Madeleine Hakansson and Mercedes Cobos and going on to earn an Atlantic Sun All-Freshman selection after posting a 6-4 record at the top spot ... Tanaka led the team in overall singles and doubles wins, finishing 9-9 overall in dual match singles and 8-10 in spring doubles while playing primarily at the No. 1 spot.

Before Kennesaw State
Tanaka joined the Owls after a successful junior career and four years at Duluth High School ... she won her team’s Player-of-the-Year award all four years ... won a G18 Peach State national match while playing junior tennis.

Personal
Born on October 14, 1988 ... daughter of Junji and Misako Tanaka ... has a sister named Yukino and a brother named Yusuke ... exercise and health science major in the WellStar College of Health and Human Services.
