MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – AJ Salierno and Walker Gantt led the Kennesaw State men's golf team Monday at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate at The Grande Dunes Resort Club.
The Owls shot a 1-over-par 289 in the second round and are tied for sixth in the 16-team field at 5-under-par 571 after 36 holes.
Freshman AJ Sailerno and sophomore Walker Gantt are tied for 11th at 4-under-par. Sailerno carded a 2-under 70 with five birdies and 10 pars. Gantt played his final holes in 2-under-par to card an even-par 70.
Junior Luca Gallingani shot a 2-under-par 70 and moved into a tie for 34th.
Alejandro Carballo (78) is tied for 48th at 3-over, while James Brash (77) is tied for 87th at 11-over-par.
Playing as an individual, Reed Sweigart (80) is 9-over-par.
The Owls return to action Tuesday, Sept. 8, for the second round.
