KENNESAW, Ga. – Talented young coach and four-time All-American
Sydney Hermann has been named assistant women's golf coach at Kennesaw State, head coach
Ket Vanderpool announced Tuesday.
Hermann arrives in Kennesaw after two seasons as the graduate assistant coach for the men's and women's golf programs at Cumberland University in Tennessee.
"I am absolutely thrilled to welcome Sydney Hermann to Kennesaw State University as our new assistant coach," Vanderpool said. "Sydney brings an incredible pedigree to our program, having built a standout collegiate career at Dalton State as a four-time All-American and a two-time Conference Player of the Year. Her elite competitive experience and deep technical knowledge on the course will be invaluable assets to our players. I am excited to have her join us this season and look forward to the immediate impact she will make on our team's championship culture."
While at Cumberland (2024-26), Hermann coached and instructed student-athletes in practice and in competition, utilizing video analysis and strategic planning for development and performance improvement.
For her efforts, she was named the 2025 Men's Golf Mid-South Conference Assistant Coach of the Year and the 2026 Women's Golf Mid-South Conference Assistant Coach of the Year.
"I'm so excited for the opportunity to be at Kennesaw State and to join the women's golf team," Hermann said. "I'm looking forward to continuing to grow as a coach while contributing to the development and success of our players. I'm grateful to be an Owl and excited for what's ahead this season!"
Prior to coaching, Hermann was a decorated golfer at Dalton State (2019-24). She was a four-time first-team All-American, a four-time WGCA All-American, a two-time Conference Player of the Year, and a five-time all-conference selection.
She also took home the 2020 Conference Freshman of the Year honor as well as the 2023 Oklahoma State Amateur Championship.
Hermann graduated from Dalton State in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in supply chain & logistics. She also earned her master's degree in sports management at Cumberland in May 2026.
