Marion Clark hurdling at GT

Clark, Sutton, Voyles, Whyte to Compete at USATF U20 Championships

EUGENE, Ore. — Kennesaw State freshmen Marion Clark, Tickia Sutton, Gage Voyles and Ebony Whyte will compete at the USATF U20 Championships on Thursday and Friday at Hayward Field. The meet will be streamed on USATF.TV.

The top two finishers in each event who meet the qualifying standard will earn spots on Team USA for the World Athletics U20 Championships, scheduled for Aug. 5-9 at Hayward Field.

Clark will compete in the 400m hurdles, while Sutton will race in the 100m hurdles. Voyles is entered in the high jump, and Whyte will compete in the 100m.

The first round of the 100 meters is scheduled for 3:46 p.m. ET on Thursday, with the final set for 5 p.m. The 400-meter hurdles preliminaries will begin at 4:26 p.m. Thursday, and the final is scheduled for 7:44 p.m. Friday. The 100-meter hurdles preliminaries are set for 7:18 p.m. Friday, with the final at 8:13 p.m. The high jump final will begin at 7 p.m. Friday.

Whyte qualified for the championships with a personal-best time of 11.41 seconds in the 100 meters at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships.

Sutton recorded a personal-best time of 13.64 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships.

Clark won the 400-meter hurdles at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships with a personal-best time of 51.49 seconds.

Voyles qualified with a clearance of 2.27 meters (7-5.25) winning the gold medal in the high jump at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships.
