5/4/2026 1:30:00 PM

DALLAS – Kennesaw State infielder Jackson Chirello was named Conference USA Hitter of the Week after a standout stretch at the plate, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Over the last four games, Chirello was a force offensively, going 6-for-15 (.400) with four home runs, nine RBIs, six runs scored and a walk, including a pair of go-ahead homers over the weekend.

After recording a hit in a 1-for-5 performance against No. 3 Georgia Tech on Tuesday, Chirello erupted for a 3-for-4 night with two home runs, a solo shot in the second inning and a go-ahead two-run blast in the sixth, against Sam Houston ace Ryan Peterson on Friday. He became the first player to record a multi-homer game against Peterson this season. He followed with a game-winning three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth on Saturday before launching another three-run blast in Sunday's 12-1 run-rule victory.

The Woodstock, Ga., native homered in each game of the weekend series, becoming the first KSU hitter to do so in three consecutive games since Donovan Cash in 2023.

Chirello is the first Owl to earn the honor this season and the third since the program joined Conference USA, joining Nate Anderson and Wesley Alig
