KENNESAW, Ga. - Seventh-seeded Kennesaw State's offense struggled to find consistent base runners, falling to fourth-seeded Dallas Baptist, 6-0, Wednesday night at Mickey Dunn Stadium at Henssler Financial Field. With the loss, the Owls (25-27) fell to 0-1 in Pool C at the Conference USA Baseball Championship.
Nolan Sliver (L, 0-2) earned the hard-luck loss after giving up only one run in 4.2 innings of action before exiting the game as the Patriots' lineup flipped over for the second time. In his final start at home, Sliver struck out four and walked one while giving up three hits. Daniel Powell struck out two in 2.0 innings before Ryan Renfroe recorded the final two outs in the eighth inning. The Black and Gold managed only two baserunners in the setback, doing so on Chris Cole's second-inning single and Wesley Alig's leadoff single in the eighth.
