ATHENS, Ga. – Shaun Cook opened play at the NCAA Athens Regional at UGA Golf Course on Monday.
Cook carded a 3-over par 74 with two birdies and 11 pars in round one. The senior is tied for 52
nd.
Auburn's Josiah Gilbert leads the individual standings after carding a 6-under 66 in the first round. Northwestern's Ethan Tseng owns the lowest score among individuals, not on a top-five team at 5-under 67 and is tied for second overall. The top individual, not on one of the five qualifying teams advances to the NCAA Championships.
The second round of the NCAA Athens Regional begins at 8 a.m. ET on Tuesday with staggered tee times. Cook will tee of No. 1 at 9:50 a.m.
