TEXARKANA, Ark. – The Kennesaw State men's golf team sits in fourth place after 18 holes at the Conference USA Golf Championship at Texarkana Country Club.
KSU posted a 4-under par round of 284 on Monday. The Owls sit just one shot out of third place with 36 holes of stroke play remaining. After the third round on Wednesday, the top four teams will advance to match play on Thursday.
Senior
Josh Ledford paced KSU with a 3-under par 69 on Wednesday. Ledford rolled in six birdies and nine pars in the opening round. He birdied four of his final nine holes.
Shaun Cook played his final nine holes in 2-under 34 to card a 1-over 71.
Kyle Bachkosky is tied for 20
th after an even-par 72. Bachkosky carded 14 pars on Monday. His 14 pars are tied for the most amongst players in the field.
Hunter Gillard (73) and
Walker Gantt (74 are tied for 24
th and 30 respectively.
KSU will tee off in round two of the Conference USA Championships from 10 a.m. – 10:44 a.m. with Western Kentucky and Sam Houston on Apr. 28.
