ATHENS, Ga. – Amelia Coker and
Jasmine Gaither completed their first heptathlons of the season Friday at the Spec Towns Invitational.
Coker finished 10
th with a personal-best total of 4818 points. She set the KSU heptathlon school record in the 800m with a time of 2:17.87 in the final event of the day. She had a personal-best heptathlon leap of 1.56m (5'1.25") on Thursday.
Gaither made her collegiate heptathlon debut, scoring 4448 points. She placed ninth in the javelin with a toss of 31.91m (104-8").
In the open events, Kaelen Garrity landed a toss of 57.06m (187'2") to place sixth in the javelin.
The Owls will finish competition at the Spec Towns Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 10.
