KENNESAW, Ga. — Kennesaw State men's tennis looks to extend its winning streak to a season-long six matches as it hosts North Florida on Thursday morning at Betty Siegel Courts.
After a pair of 4-0 road wins over Howard and Navy a week ago, the Owls are outscoring opponents by a combined 21-7 over their last five matches.
Nathan Walters,
Xavi Ferrer,
Erik Vladimirov and
Kyvan Rietkerk each recorded singles wins during the March 27-28 road trip. Walters, Ferrer and Vladimirov each went 2-0 against the Bison and Midshipmen.
Walters, Ferrer and
Dominic Ducariu – each an underclassman- are responsible for 35 of KSU's 57 singles wins this season. Walters leads the team with a 14-2 record and an eight-match win streak. Ferrer is hot on his heels with an 11-4 record and seven straight wins.
The Owls enter Thursday at 57-31 (.648) in singles and 22-20 (.524) in doubles.
SERIES HISTORY
The former ASUN foes meet for the 18
th time on Thursday. North Florida leads the series 15-2. KSU looks to win its first match versus the Ospreys since a 4-3 win in Jacksonville in 2022.
KNOW THE FOE
UNF (11-7) has won three straight matches after defeating Florida Gulf Coast (4-1), Lipscomb (7-0) and James Madison (5-2). The Ospreys are 54-43 (.557) in singles play and 26-18 (.591) in doubles.
