KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State baseball fell to No. 8 Georgia, 11-1, Tuesday evening at Mickey Dunn Stadium at Henssler Financial Field. The contest was ended after the eighth inning due to the 10-run rule.
The Owls tallied six hits in the loss, led by
Wesley Alig and
Cooper Williams, who each notched two base knocks.
Jackson Chirello drove in the Owls' lone run on an RBI double that found the left-center field gap, scoring
Trenton Lyons, as part of Chirello's 1-for-3 effort.
Logan Brock (L, 0-1) made his first start, working a career-long 3.2 innings after surrendering three first-inning runs. The Marietta, Ga., native also recorded a career-best three strikeouts before giving way to the Owls' bullpen.
Peter Jezerinac and
Ryan Renfroe both turned in scoreless outings, with Jezerinac striking out two in 1.2 innings and Renfroe fanning two of the four Bulldogs he faced.
